What is Google Wave

View the following video and click the links to check out why you should be using wave

The team at T1 have been using it for a few weeks now and it is FAR superior to using email for communication especially keeping conversations in a single place and the real-time aspects, watch the video and you will see.
Of course you can also embed waves into websites to provide real time info to your clients and community, see the next article to learn how to embed waves

And for a somewhat irreverent take on Google wave

check out how Quentin Tarantinos famous Pulp Fiction scene featuring Samuel L Jackson might have played out on wave instead of in a movie,
warning, lots of coarse language and content that may offend!!

Source: What is Google Wave

embedding waves into t1cms for live blogging

Want a page you can easily update WITHOUT logging into your T1cms, you can use RSS feeds from any other site such as facebook, OR for REAL TIME updates, and a live chat style service why not embed a WAVE direct into your website.

This is the latest new product from Google making it easier to communicate on specific topics in a hybrid email/chat style environment, you can sign up for an account using your existing gmail or ask T1 to help you setup a full company. account. www.wave.google.com.

You can also embed a wave within your website by using the wave embed tool (http://www.google.com/webelements/wave/) to create a script which you paste into your T1CMS editor for a live online chat service.

Wave is totally real-time meaning others viewing it can see AS YOU TYPE any changes, you can even edit past comments, add voting widgets, maps and many more advanced features. For those wanting more community interaction with their T1CMS this is an ideal tool.

To post a message into this wave you will need to login with your gmail account

 <

Source: embedding waves into t1cms for live blogging

93% think social media presence is essential for companies

In a 2008 Cone
Business in Social Media Study, 93 percent of Americans said they believe a company should
have a presence on social media sites and 56 percent believe that a company is providing them
with a better service by doing so.
Of course, in addition to using external social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
and YouTube—popular choices for business managers in CustomerThink’s 2009 survey—
companies can run public and private online
communities to help create a more collaborative
experience. This is part of Customer Collaboration
Management (CCM), a third wave of customercentric
thinking that has been spurred on by social
media technology.
Keep in mind that managing collaboration is just one
pillar of the customer-centric enterprise. It’s still
important to also manage customer information
(CRM) and experiences (CEM) effectively.
Marketers sparked the initial wave of enthusiasm for
social media, seeking to gain insight or influence
customers. But now customer service/support executives are increasingly moving beyond basic
discussion forums to “CrowdService”—robust communities that harness the “wisdom of crowds”
to create a better customer experience while also increasing agent productivity.
Source: 93% think social media presence is essential for companies

Worldwide, Google accounted for 66% of all searches conducted in 2009 by Internet users over 15. Microsoft's search properties, including Bing, commanded only about 3% of the total market,

Restaurant Marketing and launches using You Tube

The following video was created by Luke Stringer and Joseph Vargetto on You Tube to document the transformation of Oyster in Little Bourke into the Sicilian Focused Mezzo Bar & Grill.

Catchy sound track, a few stills and short video and a nice little intro to the new place, something that could be utilised on their new website itself, or sent to community and club members.

Not sure how in depth their marketing goes and if they have taken the essential step of sending a link to their mailing lists and regular updates to members, and an opening offer to attract in past clients. Apart from anything else the video got a mention in the Epicure section of the Age on Jan 19th, which is an achievement in itself.

Why not go ahead and make a video at your restaurant, you can use the free windows

movie maker or even power point or the superb Google Picasa to put something together.

You can also of course contract T1to help you out, main thing is to start taking photos and videos NOW, leave a camera in the kitchen and build up a good portfolio of pics, especially of special events and catering.

You don't even need to edit video or pictures, any reasonable shots can help your online profile, and could be uploaded to the Gallery section of your site.
